Graduated from Boğaziçi University Department of Electrical and Electronics Engineering in 1991. Later, pursued Master's and Ph.D. studies in Human-Computer Interaction at The George Washington University in the United States. Since 2000, have been working as a faculty member at Gebze Technical University, undertaking roles such as refereeing, consulting, and supervision in numerous domestic and international industrial projects.

Served as a member of the Board of Directors of Ulakbim, as well as on the executive board of TÜBİTAK Teydeb bilteg, and as the Head of the IT Department at GTU. Founding partner of Humexis, a user experience R&D firm. Interests include human-computer interaction, usability, invisible computing, human perception, human performance, data visualization, and software engineering.
